SUSO Contacts & Tip Management
When a SUSO tip is submitted, it is immediately triaged by SUSO staff and routed to local multidisciplinary teams. Each district or school establishes its own tip workflow and designates specific contacts for managing tips.
Tips involving criminal or life-safety concerns are promptly shared with local law enforcement by SUSO analysts, ensuring timely responses while reducing administrative burden.
Successful program use relies on teams that are trained, organized, and familiar with the user-friendly SUSO platform, P3 Campus. Virtual trainings are provided to ensure school and law enforcement teams can use the system effectively.

Tip Management
When selecting team members to triage and manage tips, establish clear roles, responsibilities, and communication protocols. High-functioning SUSO teams have district level, school level, and law enforcement staff receiving and responding to tips. Use the guiding questions below to support planning and coordination with your school and law enforcement partners:
Guiding Questions for Tip Management and Coordination:
- Who will receive tips for your school or district?
- Who will serve as the Recipient Contact Administrator(s) (RCA)?
- This person is responsible for keeping contacts updated on the SUSO platform and can add, revise, or remove contacts. Choose this role carefully—timely updates ensure quick and efficient tip delivery.
- What is the role of local law enforcement in investigations, and how will communication be handled?
- Who is responsible for completing a disposition on P3Campus once investigations are concluded?
- High-functioning SUSO teams prioritize timely dispositions. Tip administrators—whether school staff or law enforcement—should communicate and record relevant disposition information to ensure all concerns are appropriately addressed. Tips are closed by SUSO analysts following investigations or at the request of school or law enforcement personnel.

Who Should be a Contact?
School-Level Contacts
School-level SUSO contacts are notified of all tips submitted for their school, except when a tip alleges staff misconduct involving a recipient—in that case, the tip is sent to district staff. Suggested school-level contacts include: Principals, Associate Principals, Deans, Counselors, Psychologists, and/or Pupil/Student Services Staff
District-Level Contacts
District-level SUSO contacts are notified of district-level safety, school complaint, or staff misconduct tips and have access to all tips submitted for schools in their district. Suggested district-level contacts include: District Administrator or Superintendent, President, Head of School, and/or Governing Body, Assistant Superintendent/Regional Superintendents, Emergency Management Staff, Safety and Security Staff, Human Resources Staff, and/or Crisis Response Staff
Law Enforcement Contacts
Law enforcement SUSO contacts are notified of all tips involving criminal or life-safety matters in their jurisdiction. Suggested law enforcement contacts include: School Resource Officers (SROs), Police Chiefs, Sheriffs, Sergeants, Officers in Charge, Officers on Duty, and Communications Center, Dispatch, and Supervising Staff
Communications center staff play a vital role in accelerating emergency response times. They must understand SUSO and be equipped to receive tips efficiently—via the platform or by phone—to ensure timely, accurate information sharing and response.
